Why did you choose to pursue a graduate degree?

I am always interested in furthering my educational career and using best practices in my classroom.

Why did you choose Hood College Graduate School?

I enjoyed attending Hood College for my undergraduate degree so I knew I wanted to complete my master’s degree at the same institution.

What do you value most about your relationships with your professors?

They are very personal and open as professionals. I feel comfortable sharing my ideas in class and am always made to feel my contributions are valuable.

What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why?

I really enjoyed the Current Issues in Education course. It helped me become more aware and understanding of current policies. It also encouraged me to strengthen weaknesses in my own classroom and my school.

How do you manage your many other obligations such as work and family with the demands of graduate school?

I am a very organized student. I work hard to maintain my schedule to allow for all the aspects of my busy life. I am a full-time teacher, I travel often, I babysit and tutor after school and on weekends, I take two graduate courses and I have various school commitments.

Can you offer any tips to prospective students?

Hood College is a small, well-rounded college community that serves its students in a supportive way.

When you aren’t in class, what is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

Travel! I enjoy experiencing new cultures and enjoy sightseeing around the world.
