Why did you choose Hood College?
I liked the location, and I had heard it was a beautiful campus. I also really wanted to join the Coastal Semester, which I will be joining this fall.
What is your most memorable experience at Hood?
My friends threw me a birthday party right before finals week. I am so happy I got to meet those friends here, and I feel that I can easily talk to them about anything.
What do you value most about your relationships with your professors?
How I can easily approach them if I need something, or even just to talk. I found it easy to approach professors for letters of recommendation or for help with assignments.
What is something that surprised you about Hood?
How down to earth the professors are, and how easy it was to talk to people and make friends. I thought college was going to be a lot more difficult to navigate through socially.
What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why?
Chemistry, because I was never good at it. I learned to take advantage of the tutor or to see my professor during office hours, and I worked pretty hard to get better at that class. I ended up with fairly good grades.
When you aren’t in class, what is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
I enjoy hanging out with my friends while doing crafts. I also like exploring Frederick, because it’s such a nice area. Baker Park is a nice walk or jog for a stressful day.
What is your favorite campus event?
I loved the Stress Busters, especially when they brought dogs in. The dogs were so happy for the attention, and I can pet dogs for hours.
