Why did you choose to pursue a graduate degree?
Obtaining a graduate degree will help open the door for future promotions and career opportunities. Also, I’ve always wanted to be the first in my family to receive a graduate degree.
Why did you choose Hood College Graduate School?
I chose Hood College because of its excellent reputation and its close proximity to my home and work.
What do you value most about your relationships with your professors?
The professors at Hood are friendly, approachable and available to students. From my prospective, Hood professors truly care about their students.
What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why?
Getting an “A” in a class that has a reputation for being one of the hardest courses you will take in the MBA program. However, this would have not been possible without the support of my fellow classmates. Working together with your classmates for study groups, projects, etc., can be a fun and rewarding experience.
How do you manage your many other obligations such as work and family with the demands of graduate school?
Time management—making the most of the time I have available.
Can you offer any tips to prospective students?
The decision to go back to school can be daunting but don’t let it scare you. Obtaining your graduate degree is manageable if you take one step at a time and before you know it you’ll be closing in on your final courses.
When you aren’t in class, what is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
I love spending quality time with my family and friends. I also enjoy volunteering with organizations like FMH, Heartly House and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
