Why did you choose Hood College?

I liked the close relationships students and professors can develop because of the small class sizes. I had also heard wonderful things about Hood’s Foreign Language Department, which was an important quality I was looking for in a college.

What is your most memorable experience at Hood?

I made long lasting friendships while living on campus my first year, which have continued to this day.

What is something that surprised you about Hood?

I was surprised by how welcoming and friendly students and faculty are here at Hood.

What opportunity were you most grateful for?

I was granted the opportunity to complete a Summer Research Institute project with Dr. Wright in Paris during June of 2015. It was an amazing experience and I was able to conduct fascinating research at the National Library of France.

What was your most rewarding class or academic experience at Hood? Why?

Taking Arabic 101 because it sparked a greater interest in languages for me. Because of this class I realized the importance of studying languages and cultures.

What is your favorite campus event?

I’ve always loved the late-night breakfast before finals.

What are your goals for the near and distant future?

I would like to obtain a career that utilizes my passion and knowledge of languages.

How has your Hood education benefited you?

My classes at Hood have taught me to multi-task, interact with diverse people and much more. I feel that Hood has prepared me for a successful life in the work-force.

What would you say to students applying to Hood?

I would recommend that they shadow a class while on campus. This will show them the personal relationships students can build with their professors.
