Why did you choose to pursue a graduate degree?

A Master of Business Administration is a something I have always wanted to accomplish in my life. There are many reasons for that, but I will mention only the three most important. First, this degree is related to my background experience; second, it solidifies my highly respectable and favorable opinion about the quality of higher education in United States; and third, I knew an advanced degree would open far more doors and give me the academic grounding and credentials I could leverage for years to come.

Why did you choose the Hood College Graduate School?

The two most important factors for me were cost and quality. Hood`s MBA program is one of the most affordable in the area. In addition to that, Hood`s MBA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools. I also love the small campus. It is very easy to find your way around and meet people. With the small campus and small class sizes, professors are always willing to take time and help students with anything.

How did your degree help you further your professional or personal life?

I have always had a strong desire to become a leading Financial Analyst looking to utilize skills and knowledge in the financial industry. Since I started my higher education at Hood, I have always been interested in completing the CFA program. I perceive the MBA and the CFA as being very complementary. Accomplishing a degree in the MBA program provided me with in-depth financial knowledge and with a great opportunity to reach my goals. Also, I believe the MBA program will give me a competitive edge in the very competitive market place.

Who is your favorite faculty member?

My favorite faculty member at Hood College is Dr. Anita Jose, Professor of Management. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had, very passionate and full of energy and enthusiasm. Dr. Jose has made a tremendous impact on my personal and professional growth during my time at Hood. Dr. Jose’s willingness to go out of her way to help students, and her commitment to helping students to succeed is what I admire most. She demands excellence and she pushes you to do your best. Her classes are a truly rewarding experience, I learned a lot. An amazing professor!

What would you share with prospective students about your graduate experience at Hood College?

Hood`s MBA program – the study groups, small class size, focus on the MBA and the warmth and dynamism of the Hood community – provides a unique learning atmosphere. Also, a graduate education requires a significant investment of financial and personal resources. If you want to get the most of the program you have to be able to dedicate as much of your attention, energy, and time as possible towards earning your degree and enjoying and making the most of your grad school experience.
